Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Sense It Technologies (the "Site") at senseit.co.za handles and protects information. The Site uses Google Tag Manager for analytics only. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise share personal data with third parties.
1. Information we collect
We do not require or request account sign-ups, personal profiles, or payment information to use the Site. However, for the purpose of providing basic analytics about Site usage we deploy Google Tag Manager which may cause Google Analytics (or other tags) to collect limited, aggregated usage data such as:
- Page views and visited URLs
- Referrer (the site you came from)
- Device and browser type
- Approximate geographic location derived from IP address (country/region only)
2. How we use analytics data
Analytics data is used solely to help us understand general traffic patterns and improve the Site. Data is treated in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify or profile individual users. Where possible we rely on Google’s aggregated and anonymised reporting features.
3. Google Tag Manager
The Site uses Google Tag Manager. GTM itself does not set cookies containing personal information but it can load tags that do (for example Google Analytics). GTM allows us to manage analytics tags centrally. You can read Google’s privacy documentation and opt out of Google Analytics by visiting Google’s ads & privacy controls or by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Except for cookies or local storage placed by tags loaded through GTM (e.g., analytics cookies), the Site does not place persistent cookies for tracking. If you prefer not to be included in analytics processing you can:
- Use your browser settings to block cookies or clear local storage.
- Use an ad/tracker blocker extension (these commonly block analytics tags).
- Install Google's opt-out add-on for Google Analytics.
5. Hosting and security
The Site is served via CloudFront. We take commercially reasonable measures to protect data on our systems, including HTTPS to encrypt data in transit. However, no internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Sharing and third parties
We do not sell or rent personal data. Third-party services (like Google) providing analytics operate under their own privacy policies. If a tag loaded through GTM sends data to a third party, that party’s privacy policy applies to the data they collect.
7. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us to request removal.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under local privacy laws (for example the Protection of Personal Information Act in South Africa or GDPR in the EU) such as access, correction, objection to processing, and deletion. Because we do not maintain personal profiles or behavioral dossiers, our ability to respond will generally be limited to removing any data we can reasonably identify and control.
9. Email, WhatsApp & SMS Notifications
If you explicitly opt in to receive email, WhatsApp, or SMS notifications from Sense It Technologies, you consent to receive transactional messages relating to your account, shipments, device alerts, and other service-related notifications.
These communications are transactional in nature and are not used to send marketing or promotional messages unless you separately opt in to receive such communications.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information will only be used to provide the services you have requested. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services (such as cloud hosting, messaging providers, and payment processors) is permitted only to the extent necessary to provide our services and is not used for marketing purposes.
Message frequency varies depending on your account activity and the services you use.
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile network provider.
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP (where supported), using the unsubscribe instructions provided, or by contacting Sense It Technologies support.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will post the updated policy with a new "Effective date" at the top of the page.
